I wasn’t originally planning on having a blog. I only read a few of them myself, and they always seem oddly narcissistic. According to at least one friend of mine, though, that’s exactly the point. And if people don’t want to read this, well, more interesting stuff is only a click or five away.
Anyway, the whole reason I’m going ahead with this is because I finally set up a usage tracker for this site. It goes all the way back to when I first set this site up (almost two years ago now), and to my complete and utter surprise, this site gets a ton of traffic. People I don’t even know have linked to yarnboy.com, my photograph has appeared in places I’ve never even heard of, and this site has been listed in publications I haven’t read.
On top of that, one of my designs will soon be appearing on knitty.com, which is what inspired me to set up that usage tracker in the first place. For whatever reason, it looks like people want to hear what I have to say. I’ll be saying a lot of it right here, and it won’t be just about yarn.

I’ve never even read a blog-but when I saw your scarf pattern I knew I had to make it, and so it led me here. I am so glad to see you’re married- I no longer will worry about my son who loves to knit. We’ve been knitting only four months and are already on the prowl for unusual but classic looking knits.
